Logitech Is Done With Its Harmony Universal Remotes

Over the years, Logitech has created various Harmony universal remote controls. For those who are unfamiliar, universal remotes are as their name suggests – remote controls that can control a wide variety of gadgets. This is useful if you have multiple devices and don’t want to have to keep switching back and forth.

Unfortunately, if you were hoping to see a new Harmony remote from Logitech soon, you’ll be disappointed to learn that will no longer be happening. Logitech has made an announcement in their forums in which they have officially ended their production of the Harmony remotes, discontinuing them forever.

According to Logitech, “We have been getting questions from the community surrounding the future of Harmony, and we’re here with an official update. While Harmony remotes are and continue to be available through various retailers, moving forward Logitech will no longer manufacture Harmony remotes.”

The company does not mention why they have ceased production and discontinued the series, but they do state that they will keep supporting existing models for the foreseeable future. For those who have yet to get their hands on the Harmony remote, not to worry as they will still be sold at retailers while stocks last, so you’ll want to move quickly if you have an eye on a particular model.
