The Docent museum guide robot that hails from South Korea is certainly a huge hit with the little ones, as this robot’s job is to give tours at the Daejon Museum of Art throughout the winter break until January 14 next year. Standing at 120cm tall, it will definitely be taller than those who are in junior school, but once the growth spurt begins, expect the Docent to be a dwarf among others. What the Docent does is to provide relevant information as it moves from one exhibit to another before ending its tour at a large plasma display panel. So far the reception by children to it have been pretty encouraging, and we do wonder whether we will see other countries adopt a similar technique when it comes to education.
