As some of you guys might have heard, back in September the ITC ruled that Apple did not violate Samsung’s patents, a move which we’re sure Samsung was not pleased by, although as we’re sure that you might be aware of by now that the ITC has since decided to go back and reevaluate its decision. While it remains to be seen if the ITC will stick to their original ruling or reopen the case, Samsung’s Shin Jong-kyun had this to say about the matter, claiming that “without Samsung-owned wireless patents, it’s impossible for the Cupertino-based Apple to produce its handsets.” Shin was also the same person was said a while back that unlike HTC, the Korean company had no plans to reach a settlement agreement with Apple. What do you guys think? Is Shin right in saying that Apple’s iPhone would not exist were it not for Samsung’s patents?
