nokia-lumia-iconThe Nokia Lumia Icon is a smartphone that has been talked about in recent times, where this will fall under the high end category when it comes to Windows Phone 8 handsets. Apparently, it has been announced to appear on Verizon exclusively for those of us living in the U.S. The latest addition to the Lumia family has been specially designed to deliver style alongside substance, and chances are your eyes will feast on the beauty of its Full HD display, while the entire handset comes in a sturdy metal construction that delivers a really distinctive look.

The aluminum construction will be accompanied by ceramic keys, where the entire package would tip the scales at a mere 5.8 ounces, while measuring 5.39” x 2.79” x 0.39” to deliver performance on the move without weighing you down. At the back lies a 20MP camera which will draw inspiration from Nokia’s award-winning PureView technology and Zeiss optics, while a quartet of lossless microphones ensures that video capture can be done without worrying that you would fail in capturing the audio segment. Apart from the high-performance digital mics, there will be noise reduction and magical software algorithms.

Other hardware specifications include a quad-core 2.2GHz processor, a Full HD OLED display that sports Gorilla Glass 3 alongside 441ppi pixel density with curved glass and aluminum ring, the most recent version of Windows Phone 8, and a 2,420 mAh battery that plays nice with the wireless charging standard. 32GB of internal memory can be further augmented via 7GB of cloud storage on Microsoft’s SkyDrive. To make sure you get a great user experience right out of the box, the Nokia Lumia Icon which is bound for Verizon will arrive with apps such as Instagram, Vine, Mint, Nokia Mix Radio, Redbox Instant, Beats Music, Waze, HERE Drive and HERE Maps.

Expect it to retail for $199.99 with a 2 year contract as it hits Verizon this February 20th. [Press Release]
