gear-circleIt seems that Samsung was pretty busy yesterday because not only did they officially unveiled a new smartwatch in the form of the Samsung Gear S, but they also took the wraps off a new pair of headphones that they have dubbed the Samsung Gear Circle. While the headphones themselves might look pretty normal, it does come with a nifty feature that some of you guys might appreciate.

Thanks to a built-in magnetic clasp, the headphones can be joined together at the edges and be worn as a necklace around your neck. We suppose on one hand you could always try and accessorize your outfit with it, but we reckon it’s more for convenience where instead of stuffing the headphones in your pocket or bag, or have them dangling, clasping them around your neck seems like a much neater solution.

gear-circle-1The Samsung Gear Circle headphones will also feature vibrations that will alert the wearer to incoming calls or notifications. Users will be able to take calls with the headphones and also issue voice commands. It will pair with mobile devices via Bluetooth and will support codecs such as SBC, apt-X, Samsung HD, and SoundAlive.

Pricing of the Samsung Gear Circle was not announced, but it is expected to be made available the same time as the Samsung Gear S in October and will be available in black, blue, and white.
