Samsung has expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of the Galaxy A18, a budget-focused model now available in Europe. The device initially went on sale in France, with availability in additional European markets expected to follow.
In France, the Galaxy A18 is priced around $328 (converted from the original €279 price). The available configuration includes 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, positioning the device toward consumers looking for an affordable Samsung smartphone with a relatively large display.
The Galaxy A18 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. The phone also has an IP64 rating, providing protection against dust and water splashes.
For photography, Samsung equips the device with a 50MP main camera on the rear and a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Processing is handled by Samsung’s Exynos 1610 chipset, while a 5,000mAh battery provides power. The phone supports 25W wired charging.
On the software side, the Galaxy A18 ships with Android 17 and One UI 9.0. Samsung is promising six major Android OS updates and six years of security updates, giving the budget phone an extended software support period compared with many devices in the same price segment.
The Galaxy A18 does not include Samsung’s more advanced Galaxy AI features. However, the company has highlighted integration with Google Gemini and Circle to Search, bringing selected AI-powered functions to the device.
French customers can choose between Black, Gray, and Light Blue finishes. The phone’s design reflects its budget positioning, featuring an Infinity-U notch for the front camera and a relatively thick bottom bezel.
The Galaxy A18 also supports 4G connectivity, rather than 5G. While Samsung has not provided complete details about its European rollout, the company is expected to introduce the smartphone in additional markets.
With its combination of a Super AMOLED display, large battery, long software support, and affordable positioning, the Galaxy A18 expands Samsung’s options at the lower end of the European smartphone market.
