iwatch

Apple has already confirmed that it is going to conduct an event on September 9th. Rumor has it that at this event the company is going to show off its new iPhones. A well known Apple analyst predicted a few days back that the iWatch is also going to be unveiled at this event. For the first time Apple has invited many fashion publications to its event as well and this unprecedented step has started to fuel iWatch rumors once again.

Reuters quotes Lea Goldman who is the features and special projects director at Marie Claire magazine, invited for the first time at an Apple event, who says that this is probably because “they are unveiling a wearable.” Goldman adds that this points towards Apple’s seriousness about “tapping into the fashion world, which often sits on the sidelines.”

There’s no doubt that the iWatch is going to be an important product for Apple. Not only does it mark the company’s entry into a new product category, it also happens to be the first truly “new” product released under Tim Cook’s leadership after he took over from deceased co-founder Steve Jobs.

Previous rumors have also suggested that Apple has made some key hires from the fashion world to help with the marketing side of things for the iWatch. Seeing as how its a wearable device the presence of the some of the biggest fashion publications certainly wouldn’t hurt. The million dollar question is this: will customers find the iWatch to be fashionable? We’ll only know once the smartwatch is formally unveiled.
