sony-selfie-phone-2It looks like snapping selfies with bears in the background are a no-go, but those are not the only kind of selfies that will be banned. A Russian government agency that hails from Kursk’s regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, has issued a warning to younger folks out there (who seem to be the main demographic when it comes to selfie taking) that snapping selfies could be hazardous to your health – as it might lead to the spread of head lice in particular.

This government agency happens to be responsible for consumer rights as well as the overall well being of humans, claims that folks who come close together in order to snap a selfie would open up the doors for lice to make the jump from one head to another, and selfies have then been deemed to be the primary reason behind the spread of head lice.

Of course, if this sounds like odd advice, take heart that it is not the first time such advice has been dished out, since the agency’s former head Gennady Onishchenko did mention before that crows ought to be killed due to the fact that they are “feathered wolves which spread bird flu.” It does not look like this warning is going to gain any traction at all though.
