If you’re a fan of mods, you might have heard of the name Ed Zarick. Zarick is the man behind mods like the Xbook One, the Xbook Duo and the portable PlayStation 4. Those modifications basically took the consoles and made them into portable gaming machines, allowing you to take your console gaming on the go with you, much like you would a laptop.

However this also meant you had to choose between either Microsoft’s Xbox platform or Sony’s PlayStation platform. Well if you hate chasing, you’re in luck as Zarick has recently cobbled together his latest modification – the PlayBox. As the name suggests, this is a combination of both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Due to the combination of both consoles, the PlayBox isn’t as portable as Zarick’s other creations, but the upside is that it will pack a 22-inch display. While the concept sounds pretty straightforward, putting it together was not an easy task. According to Zarick, “This system took a lot of attempts and reconfiguring to make everything fit and still some things had to be compromised to make the system work, for example it was impossible to get the USB ports on the Xbox to be extended to the outside of the case.”

So how can you get your hands on one? Well unfortunately this combination will not be for sale to the masses. It seems that Zarick had put it together at a request of a customer, so if you’d like one, you’d have to ask him personally to make you one and we reckon it probably won’t come cheap either. In the meantime you can check out the PlayBox in action in the video above.
