Apple-Watch-Magnetic-Charging-DockThanks to a series of leaked photos from yesterday, it was suggested that Apple could be planning on launching an official Apple Watch dock. It was unclear if the photos were the real deal or if they were fakes, but as it turns out they are real and Apple has officially taken the wraps off the Apple Watch’s first official watch dock.

The dock is pretty much the same as in the photos. It features a round base with the magnetic charger placed in the middle. Users will need to flip up the magnet in order to begin charging their watch which will be placed on its side. Like we mentioned previously, the Apple Watch can be used as a bedside clock so we guess this method of charging shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone.

However as it stands, the accessory is not yet available via Apple’s website nor does it seem that it is available in Apple’s US retail stores either, but its launch was confirmed by German blogger Benjamin Scholtysik so we guess it’s only a matter of time before it makes its way stateside, and given Apple’s propensity to launch products in multiple markets at once, we reckon we shouldn’t have to wait too long for it.

As for pricing, the Apple Watch dock will set you back $79. We have to admit that this is rather pricey for such a simple accessory. Plus not to mention there are cheaper alternatives out there, but if you prefer going official then you’ll want to keep an eye out for it.
