apple_logoThe patent battle between Apple and Samsung has been going on for what feels like an eternity. However it looked like things could be winding down when Samsung finally agreed to pay Apple the damages they were ordered to in the tune of $548 million. Unfortunately it looks like Apple has decided that was not enough.

According to a report from Reuters, it seems that Apple wants more money (no surprises there) and based on the court papers filed, the Cupertino  company is asking for an additional $180 million in supplemental damages. These additional damages are related to five other Samsung devices that were sold even after a jury in 2012 had found Samsung liable.

However it isn’t all Apple. Samsung also appears to be wanting to stretch out the lawsuit. While the South Korean tech giant had agreed to pay Apple the $548 million, there was a stipulation in which the money had to be returned if they managed to overturn the ruling, something that they’re trying to do by taking it to the Supreme Court.

Unfortunately it looks like we’re no closer to where we were when we first started, and it seems that neither Apple nor Samsung are planning on kicking off the new year with a clean slate.
