galaxy-s7-design_01The chipsets on phones is important to its performance, kind of like picking a processor for your PC. There are many things to take into consideration, like how many cores there are, how efficient it is, and of course, how fast it is. So far the phones we’re seeing have been increasing in speed, but the Galaxy S8 could very well take the cake.

According to reports out of China, word on the street it has it that Samsung could be preparing a new and very fast Exynos chipset for the Galaxy S8 next year. The Exynos chipset in question is the Exynos 8895 and if the rumors are to be believed, it will be clocked at a speedy 4.0GHz! It is also said to be 30% faster than its predecessor.

In addition to the rumored 4.0GHz chipset in the Galaxy S8, we have been hearing bits and pieces of rumors about the upcoming handset. This includes a 5.5-inch display, and it is also rumored to come with a 4K resolution and be VR ready. We have also heard that Samsung might stop producing handsets with flat screens next year, meaning that the Galaxy S8 will come in a curved variant.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but at the end of the day, whether or not you require such a fast clock speed remains to be seen, but we guess on paper it does sound pretty good.
