instagramEarlier this year, Instagram launched its app on Windows 10 Mobile, meaning that if you owned a Windows 10 Mobile device, you will also be able to access the Instagram app. Given that the Windows 10 platform is kind of a unified platform, it was odd that despite being available on Mobile, it wasn’t available on other Windows 10 devices, at least until now.

In a post on Instagram’s blog, the company has announced that starting today, the app will also be available on Windows 10 tablets. “Now, Instagram for Windows 10 tablets includes all of your favorite features, including Instagram Stories, Direct and Explore. And you’ll be able to capture, edit and share directly from your Windows 10 tablet device.”

However despite being very specific about availability on Windows 10 tablets, it seems that the app will also work with Windows 10 PCs. This means that if you wanted to browse Instagram on your computer, you won’t have to go through the web version as the app will get the job done just fine.

Now it is possible that the reason it wasn’t advertised for PCs is because PC users will have limited functionality in the sense that they can’t upload photos. This is because the upload feature seems to be limited to devices with a touchscreen, which is probably more prevalent in tablets than PCs, but either way if you’re just looking to browse, hit up the Microsoft Store for the download.
