iphone-holiday-activationsIt seems that Samsung’s snafu with the Note 7 did not do them any favors during the holiday season. According to the latest numbers provided by analytics firm Flurry (via iMore), it seems that Apple has managed to take advantage of Samsung’s misfortunes as the number of iPhone activations has surpassed that of their rival.

As you can see in the graph above, not only has Apple surpassed Samsung in terms of mobile device activations during the holidays, but they appear to have double that of Samsung’s. However to be fair the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge have been around for a bit longer than the iPhone, so maybe the excitement surrounding the devices has cooled somewhat, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they are still both excellent devices.

The graph also clearly shows that Apple has trounced the competition from the likes of Huawei, LG, Oppo, Xiaomi, and Motorola, with Samsung probably being the closest competitor. Of course these numbers aren’t official figures as Flurry is basing it from data from apps that are embedded with its analytics SDK.

However if they are close to the real thing, it seems that despite analysts predicting that customers would not respond well to the “boring” iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the numbers have proven them wrong.
