At the moment it is unclear if Apple’s iPhone 8 will feature Touch ID under its screen or on the back of the phone. There have been some leaked schematics that suggested that it will be on the back, but at the same time there are also claims that the fingerprint sensor will be embedded under the display.

It is hard to tell at this point in time, but the good news is that according to a report from iDropNews (via 9to5Mac), word has it that Apple will be embedding Touch ID into the display of the iPhone 8. Now we’re not saying that the report is accurate, but it does bring a glimmer of hope, especially for those who are absolutely hating on the idea of a rear-facing Touch ID sensor.

In addition to this, iDropNews is also reporting that the iPhone 8 will sport a nearly bezel-less front design which is similar to what we’ve heard before. However there is a slight difference and that is there will be a cutout for the front-facing camera, which is different from what was previously reported in which the front camera is said to be placed under the display of the phone as well.

Needless to say that you should definitely take this with a grain of salt for now, but we should have the details in the coming months, assuming that Apple keeps to their schedule and announces the phone in September.
