When Apple Maps was first launched, safe to say that the service was extremely disappointing to the point where an executive got fired and where Apple’s CEO Tim Cook had to publicly apologize to the extent of asking customers to check out alternative apps in the meantime. However that was years ago and Apple Maps has since come a long way.

In fact if you’re looking to use Apple Maps, you’ll be pleased to learn that the mapping software has recently undergone an update where it will now include more indoor maps for more places. This includes indoor airport maps for Edinburgh (EDI), Sydney International (SYD), and Hamad International (DOH) in Doha, Qatar.

As airports tend to be huge and sometimes confusing, especially if it is your first time to the country, these indoor maps will help users find their way about. For example it will help users find their gate location, bathrooms, where the security checkpoints are, restaurants, places of interest, business operating hours, and so on.

So if you are an Apple Maps user or if you find this feature useful, then you’ll want to check it out especially if you’ll be heading to those airports in the near future.
