GoPro Launches ‘TradeUp’ Program, Will Accept Any Camera

GoPro really wants you guys to buy their cameras, so much so that the company has recently launched its “TradeUp” program. As it name suggests, this is pretty much a trade-in program (except that GoPro is framing it like you’ll be upgrading your camera) that will accept any old camera that will go towards the purchase of a new GoPro.

Of course there will be a catch and that is your old camera will need to have an original retail value of at least $100, meaning that you can’t trade in junk and expect to get a discount on a GoPro. Also this TradeUp program is only available in the US and applicable towards the purchase of a HERO6 Black or Fusion camera, which means that if you were eyeing older or other GoPro products, then you’ll be out of luck.

If this trade-in program sounds familiar, it is because GoPro attempted something similar last year where they ran it for a couple of months. However it seems that the program has proven to be popular enough or successful enough where GoPro has decided that they will launch it again, except that this time this deal is permanent.

Those who trade-in their old cameras are expected to receive $50 off the HERO6 and $100 off the Fusion which are pretty good deals, so head on over to GoPro’s website if you’d like to learn more about it.
