Google Android 2.3.3 receives NFC support with tweak

Google might soon make big strides with its Android 2.3.3 operating system since a recent tweak throws in support for Near Field Communications (NFC). Currently, its Nexus S smartphone that is manufactured by Samsung comes with limited read only support, but with the addition of NFC inside that supports the full feature set in its latest iteration, it might just open up new ways to make full use of your mobile devices, where among the implementations could be applied to ticketing, advertising, ratings segments and perhaps even data exchange with other devices. Having said all of that, if you’re a developer, expect to see Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread’s latest release come with a NFC reader/writer API.
