LM-BE100J BD-RE XL – the world’s first rewritable triple-layer Blu-ray disc

Panasonic LM-BE100J BD-RE XLWhile Blu-ray disc drives are yet to become a common staple in most computers (let alone Blu-ray writers), Panasonic has announced the arrival of re-writable Blu-ray discs. The LM-BE100J BDXL Blu-rays are the world’s first rewriteable triple-layer Blu-ray discs. Holding up to 100GB of data, the special Blu-ray discs come with a “hard coat” to protect your discs from scratches and dirt. Though with Blu-ray drives being not something everybody owns, it’s going to be awhile before we see these discs being the standard format to share files with. And with the LM-BE100J costing $120 a piece, it’s going to be an even longer time until we see these discs being adopted.
