This will be an Android 2.2 Froyo-powered smartphone that comes in a candybar form factor, complete with a full QWERTY keypad which should not be too unfamiliar to BlackBerry users. The device itself does seem to resemble the Motorola Droid Pro, but unlike the Droid Pro, this one will come with a 2.8″ display that is considerably smaller than the 3.1″ display on the Droid Pro.
Strangely enough, the XT316 might have received FCC approval, but it will be headed towards the Chinese market instead of those of us living Stateside since it has WCDMA support for 850 and 2100 bands – that means no full support for 3G networks in the US. Can anyone say bummer? This would have made a decent mid-range Android phone…
