This won’t be the first content streaming service in the market though, where the FCC filing tells of a negotiation between the Fox Entertainment Group and a multichannel video programming distribution partner, where this move will see “its subscription and on-demand video services available directly to widely-marketed consumer electronics devices, such as game consoles.” When will this happen? Sometime in the near future, of course, with Fox content surely being part of the deal.
No idea on who the distribution partner is, but Gamasutra thinks it is a major cable, FiOS or satellite provider who is currently plying its wares Stateside. How will Microsoft and Sony deal with this emerging threat?
