GD-Itronix introduces GD2000 ultra-mobile handheld rugged PC
It looks like rugged computers are the new black because there seems to be a brand new one to introduce each week. This week GD-Itronix announced the pocket-sized GD2000. With the size of about two stacked paperback books, this compact machine doesn’t sacrifice size for performance, and has a rugged exterior to boot. It packs an Intel Ultra Low Voltage Core Solo processor (1.2 GHz), highly sensitive GPS and a 5.6″ daylight-viewable DynaVue (1024 x 600) touch-screen display.
The computer that’s designed for the military, law enforcement, emergency first responders and personnel working in environments with harsh conditions and limited space, it delivers mission-critical wireless, and full-power computing. Other specs include: 2GB of DDR3 DRAM, MicroDIMM expansion slot, up to 256MB dynamically allocated graphics memory, 64-128 GB SATA SSD, USB 2.0 port, 76—mAh battery for up to 6 hours of usage, security features, optional 3G connectivity, and more.
