Panasonic Toughbook is one rugged Android tablet

Panasonic Toughbook tablet

Last week we wrote about Panasonic announcing the updated Toughbook 19 – a rugged notebook that looked like its strong enough to take a missile head on, and still be able to function after the smoke has cleared. Well, it looks like Panasonic has decided to expand its Toughbook lineup by introducing a new tablet to the mix.

Designed for users who need a tablet that can handle a little roughhousing, the enterprise-grade tablet also packs security features (embedded at hardware level) to keep whatever is stored on the tablet a little bit safer. The Toughbook tablet features a 10.1” XGA daylight-viewable multi-touch display, GPS, 3G connectivity, and full-shift battery life. Judging from the released press shot, the rugged-looking tablet seems to be running on Android 2.2 Froyo.

Other than that, we don’t have many details about the tablet, including its price or release date, but stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
