Google Video arrives on Froyo and Gingerbread devices

Google Video was launched awhile ago for Android tablets, and now it looks like it’s finally made its way to smaller Android devices. Google has released a new update to the Google Videos app that brings the video rental service to Android smartphones. No longer will users have to lug around their 10″ tablet just to catch up on their favorite movies – just using their smartphones will do.

The app brings a couple of bug fixes that were in previous versions of the app, and will now work on Froyo and Gingerbread devices, which should also mean your Samsung Galaxy Tab or other Android 2.2 tablet will be able to run it. We’re not a big fan of the $2.99 price tag to rent a movie for 24 hours but hey – to some people it might be just right. Head over to the Android Market to download it now.
