Motorola continues buying up RAZR domain names

Motorola RAZR and DROID
Need any more proof that the Motorola RAZR is making a comeback? There have been hints in the past before, including the appearance of the DROID RAZR on NenaMark1 benchmarks, and today, we’ve got more hints to support the brand’s return. According to reports online, Motorola has been buying up a whole bunch of RAZR-related domain names, including MotorolaRAZR.com – seven years after the phone’s launch.

Here are the new domain names purchased by Motorola this week: motorazr.net, motorolarazr.net, razermoto.com, razermotorola.com, razormoto.com, razrmoto.com, razrmoto.net, razrmotorola.net, razrphone.net.

Now, you could say that Motorola might just be buying up names to protect itself just in case of any mishaps in the future, but why would they do it for a phone that’s seven years old and pretty much obsolete in today’s world? It doesn’t make sense unless they’re planning to release a new phone using the same name, and it’s very unlikely that the company would be releasing a new feature phone in today’s world. It doesn’t seem very fitting of them to do so. What do you think?
