Sharp Q-Pod phone targets those with a sweet tooth

They say that chocolate is a magical kind of food, functioning as an aphrodisiac as well as a general “feel good” food when taken in reasonable quantities. Well, those who have a great love for chocolate might want to check out the Sharp Q-Pod smartphone that is powered by the Android operaing system, where it will feature a gold color scheme overall, although part of the back, front and user interface looks as though it is covered in some delicious looking half-melted chocolate.

Heck, the Sharp Q-Pod even ships with its very own “Chocobed”, a charging dock that resembles a chocolate box which is more or less more suitable as a gift box than to juice up thirsty handsets. What about specifications then, since we are not supposed to judge a book by its cover?

The Q-Pod is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, carrying 512MB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 3.7″ display at 960 x 540 resolution. Since this hails from Japan and is available from carrier NTT DoCoMo, it does not look likely that it will arrive Stateside. Besides, there is just a limited run of 3,000 units, so expect it to cost a fair bit instead of the sweet deal you were expecting.
