AMD A-Series Processors, Unlocked

AMD has bumped the performance of its A-Series APUs (Accelerated Processing Unit) by releasing an “unlocked” version of some processors and new versions of others. In all, 6 desktop and 8 laptop processors have been announced today. For performance/$ lovers, the two unlocked editions are the most interesting ones: the AMD A8-3870K and AMD A8-3670K. Both chips can be overclocked by about 500MHz on the CPU side, and 200MHz on the graphics processor side (GPU). some of you may already think about it you could snatch a A8-3670K and bump the performance to get closer to the more expensive A8-3870K. Just keep in mind that there is a difference in the number of GPU cores between the two: 380 vs. 400.

The new products will be available in the “next several weeks” according to AMD, so be patient and check your favorite retailer by then. APU list in the full post
