iPad used by voiceless comedian to tell jokes

If there’s one thing that Apple forgot to put in its iPad commercials, it’s the ability to help stand up comedians tell jokes. We’ve all seen the iPad being used to entertain before – from magic tricks, to playing music, and now we’ve got one more to add to the list: helping a standup comedian tell his jokes. Lee Ridley aka Lost Voice Guy recently performed his first ever standup comedy gig thanks to the iOS tablet.

Like his nickname suggests – Ridley has been voiceless since he was a child no thanks to Cerebral Palsy. However, thanks to the Speak It! app on the iPad, he managed to overcome this obstacle and performed for a live audience for the first time in his life. After watching the highlight reel posted up on YouTube, I was pretty impressed – by both Ridley’s jokes and the quality of Speak It! In my opinion, the text-to-speech conversion sounded pretty natural. Check out the video of Ridley’s performance above.
