Samsung SHV-E170K has LTE, launches in South Korea

South Korea and Japan are two of the more vibrant smartphone markets in the world, and today, KT confirmed that they will introduce a merry trio of LTE-equipped smartphones in South Korea, where one of the three will be the Samsung SHV-E170K. KT has yet to offer any confirmation on the specifications of the Samsung smartphone, although the mobile carrier did mention that all three handsets will feature the latest chipset and a high-capacity battery to keep it going longer than normal. Digging around though, a GLBenchmark test on another Korean site pointed to additional details of the SHV-E170K, where it will most probably run on a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor (MSM8960) as well as the Android 4.0 Ice Scream Sandwich update. It will tip the scales at a mere 126 grams and will feature a 4.3″ Super AMOLED display as well as two cameras – one 5-megapixel shooter at the back, and a 1.3-megapixel camera in front. No word on pricing, but it ought to hit the market later this month.
