Samsung Galaxy Note 2 tipped for October 2012 release?

The original Samsung Galaxy Note happened to be a pioneer in the world of “phablets”, where it proved that a 5.3″ display worked well for those who are looking for smartphone capability and performance in a tablet device. Granted, 5.3″ of viewing goodness is nowhere near that of a 9.7″ display on some tablets, but it is more than enough for one to wield the included stylus, making the original Samsung Galaxy Note a success when it rolled out at the end of last year. This time around, we have heard whispers of a sequel coming your way, where it assumes the unoriginal name of Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Seriously, what did you expect, the “new” Galaxy Note?

Word on the street has it that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will arrive in October this year, sporting a slightly larger display at 5.5″ from the Super AMOLED family, in addition to an even higher WSXGA+ resolution at 1680 x 1050 pixels, an 8-megapixel camera at the back, 1.5GB RAM, and a new Exynos 5250 chipset that boasts of a dual-core ARM-15 processor. International units are said to feature 4G connectivity, so keep your fingers crossed!
