Sony VAIO S 13.3″ and 15.5″ models unveiled

Sony has recently taken the wraps off a couple of new laptops from its VAIO range which has been upgraded to Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors. However if you’re not willing to fork out $1,600 for the Sony VAIO Z, perhaps the VAIO S might be of interest to you at a more affordable price starting at $899.99 for the 13.3” model and $999.99 for the 15.5” model. Both feature chassis made from magnesium, aluminum and carbon fiber, with the latter model featuring a Full HD display resolution of 1920×1080 along with a discrete GPU from NVIDIA in the form of the GT 640M LE with 1GB of VRAM, although the more expensive configuration of the 13.3” model will feature the same GPU as well but be prepared to fork out $1,699.99 for it. They are also expected to ship with a minimum of 6GB of RAM and will come with a host of other features such as TPM and a Fingerprint Reader along with Hard Disk Drive Shock Protection Technology. More details on either device can be found on Sony’s website with an estimated ship date set for the 5th of June.
