Amazon Instant Video app for the iPad launched

Amazon might be in the tablet business with their Kindle range, but they are not that daft to exclude the possibility of catering to its rivals in the tablet market such as the iPad. Having said that, the Amazon Instant Video app for the iPad was launched yesterday, where this is no doubt one of Amazon’s efforts to ensure its digital content ends up on the most number of gizmos possible. After all, it makes perfect sense not to have all your eggs in a single basket, so Amazon intends to have their proverbial eggs end up even in their rival’s platform.

Just how crucial is the presence of the Amazon Instant Video app on the iPad? Well, for starters, it will enable users to stream or download movies and TV shows that were purchased or rented from Amazon on their iPads. This is nothing to be sneezed at when you consider Amazon has over 120,000 videos to rent or buy. Those who are Amazon Prime members are also able to stream over 20,000 videos without having to fork out a single cent over the new iPad app, too.
