Sony Xperia E Ships With Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Sony Mobile has just announced their spanking new smartphone that will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in tow, calling it the Sony Xperia E. This is the first device from Sony that will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box. While it might come with Jelly Bean, it will be an entry-level device, which is different from the high-end Sony Xperia T that is still powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In essence, the Sony Xperia E will be a basic smartphone that gets the job done – sporting a 3.5” HVGA display, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS navigation, HD voice and noise cancellation, xLOUD and 3D surround sound, a 3.2-megapixel camera at the back that does VGA video recording, a single-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, and 4GB of internal memory alongside microSD memory card support.

The Sony Xperia E will tip the scales at 116 grams, where it comes with measurements of 114mm x 61.8mm x 11 mm, and is powered by a 1,500 mAh battery which delivers a talk time of up to 6.3 hours on a full charge. There will also be a dual SIM edition that is known as the Xperia E dual. No idea on pricing yet though, but time will tell. [Press Release]
