AT&T Debuts Its Own Video On Demand Service

We’ve got good news for AT&T U-verse TV customers out there. Not to be outdone with Netflix and Redbox Instant, AT&T announced today that it will be offering a new screen pack that will bring video on demand for its U-verse users. At $5 per month, AT&T says that the screen pack will bring unlimited instant playback of movies on U-verse TV, Uverse.com and on the U-verse app for tablets and smartphones, without having to rent DVDs. AT&T is launching the service today, and to honor that, the company is offering customers a free preview up until January 13th, Sunday.

The AT&T U-verse Screen Pack will basically include movies from major studios, as well as newly added titles on a regular basis. To access the free preview, customers can select “On Demand” on their U-verse remote and scroll to Screen Pack, or they can search “Screen Pack” on Uverse.com and on the U-verse app. “We know customers have more options than ever before to watch their favorite movies, and U-verse Screen Pack gives them a convenient and valuable way to access a large variety of movie titles, whether it’s on the device in their hand or on their big screen TV,” said Jeff Weber, President of Content and Advertising Sales, AT&T Home Solutions. “Our customers have told us they want subscription on demand services and we’re delivering. Screen Pack, along with our On Demand library, gives customers a flexible and more compelling movie experience, where and when they want it.”
