ZTE Grand S Coming To The U.S. Later This Year

ZTE took the wraps off its 5-inch Grand S a couple of days ago, and said that the device will be heading to China first this month. Many were left wondering if the Chinese company has plans of launching the smartphone in the U.S. So, ZTE’s Head of North American Business, Lixin Cheng, is confirming the arrival of the Grand S in the U.S. this year. However, Cheng did not specify the details, such as the exact date and the carrier partners who will be offering the device. Speaking about the overall response of U.S. carriers regarding ZTE’s latest smartphone and its concept models, Cheng says that they have been impressed so far.

“There was a wow factor when they saw them,” Cheng told CNET. When asked if the company was interested in building a brand in the U.S., Cheng says that it has no plans, adding that it will rely instead on the support of carriers. The ZTE Grand S is the company’s first Full High-Definition (FHD) smartphone. It features a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM and 6GB of storage. It also includes a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.7-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
