Sony Xperia SP And Xperia L Announced

If you’re looking to pick up a new smartphone but you’re shopping on a budget, you’re in luck because Sony has just announced the Xperia SP and the Xperia L, devices that have been priced for the budget shopper in mind.

Kicking things off with the Sony Xperia SP, this is a 4.6” Android smartphone with a HD 720p display powered by Sony’s Bravia Mobile Engine 2. It will run on a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 Pro chipset with an 8MP Exmor RS camera, along with NFC and LTE connectivity. One good thing about the Xperia SP is that it features an aluminum frame, making it feel like a premium product, just without the premium price tag. It also comes with a see-through plastic strip at the bottom that can be customized to display notification lights and what not.

Next up is the Sony Xperia L which is Sony’s budget Android device. This phone will sport a smaller FWVGA display at 4.3” and will be powered by Qualcomm’s dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon S4 chipset. It will pack a 1,700mAh battery with 8GB of storage (expandable via microSD), an 8MP camera and will come with NFC connectivity, much like the Xperia SP. While it does not pack the same amount of power as the Xperia SP, it will be able to snap HDR photos and video, making this a attractive budget device for photography/videography enthusiasts.
