Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A Reaches 150K Shipped Units In Korea

Last month, a report was published indicating Samsung was planning on releasing a faster Galaxy S4 that would support LTE Advanced, or LTE-A. Just a week after that report was published, Samsung did in fact announce an LTE-A version of its Galaxy S4, which was released shortly after it was announced. Considering the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been available in Korea for quite some time, you would think its LTE-A version wouldn’t be receiving as many sales as the original device did, but boy, were we wrong.

According to ETNews, the new Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A can be deemed a huge hit in Korea as it’s being reported 150,000 units of the device have shipped just 14 days since its original launch. What probably helped the Galaxy S4 LTE-A reach this amount of shipped units is due to the fact it’s currently the only mobile device that takes advantage of SK Telecom’s newest network, which the carrier has promoted this fact heavily since its launch.

The number of shipped Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A devices will only improve from here for at least a month as there’s currently no other device that can compete with it in Korea. Now if only we in the U.S. could get a piece of that LTE-A action.
