Jana Mobile is basing their conclusion on a survey of 1,500 panellists in 9 countries who were asked what were their intentions for their next smartphone. They found, in emerging markets, that there was more interest in Windows Phone than the iPhone mainly because of Nokia’s efforts to bring about low-cost devices with decent quality that can be had for under $200. The survey also found that 74% of the participants planned to spend less than $200 for their next phone, meaning that the iPhone is prety much out of the picture.
It is true that Windows Phone is doing well in emerging markets, such as India and Thailand, although we’re not sure if surveying only the emerging markets is a good way to go about concluding that Windows Phone will eventually overtake iOS, but what do you guys think?
