Samsung Galaxy S5 Update Improves Camera And Fingerprint Scanner Speeds

If you thought that maybe the Samsung Galaxy S5’s camera was a bit on the slow side, or maybe that its fingerprint scanner needed to be faster, well you might be pleased to learn that Samsung has recently started rolling out an update for the Galaxy S5 which will improve not only the camera, but its fingerprint sensor as well.

The update has begun rolling out in the UK and will be making its way onto the international variant of the Galaxy S5, so if you’re using a different model, or if your model is tied to a carrier like in the US, then there is a good chance that you might be in for a wait since carriers typically need to approve updates before it is rolled out.

For those wondering if their phones are in the running for the update, this update applies to the Samsung SM-G900F, so if that is your model, you can look forward to the update making it way onto your handset. So far according to the reports, the update has managed to improve the startup speed of the camera along with the gallery app.

It has also improved the speed and accuracy of the fingerprint scanner. SamMobile reports that it can even work with one-handed use, which according to our review of the handset, was not exactly the most comfortable or accurate way to use it when it was first launched. In any case if you have not received the update yet, fret not because we expect that it is being rolled out in stages, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for it.
