Putting together your own computer might seem like a daunting task, especially when you have so many parts to choose from, and when you’re not sure what each part does and what do all those numbers mean. We suppose had we been taught at a young age how to piece together our own computer, it might not be an issue today, and that’s what the Kano aims to do.

Debuting at the London Technology Week, the Kano is a computer and coding kit aimed at children. The goal is to allow children to learn how to build a computer themselves. According to the company behind the computer, the youngest child to have put the Kano together was 6, and the oldest person was 81, so safe to say that if they can do it, we shouldn’t have a problem with it either.

The Kano will be powered by Raspberry Pi and is apparently easy enough to put together, like you would with LEGO bricks. There will be guided instructions on how to go about doing it, and when you’re done, you will be able to use the computer you’ve put together yourself to start teaching yourself coding and even be able to make some games with it, pretty cool, huh?

For parents interested in getting their hands on the Kano to help aid their children’s education, especially with regards to technology, the device is up for pre-order via its website where it is priced at $129 is expected to ship in July 2014.
