Sony Xperia Z2 Finally On Sale In The US

Sony-Xperia-Z2-02Given that both the Sony Xperia Z and Sony Xperia Z1 were pretty good phones in their own right, especially when it came to the camera feature, safe to say that many were looking forward to the Sony Xperia Z2. Unfortunately while the rest of the world had gotten their hands on the handset, over in the US, the device was faced with delays.

Well the good news is that if you’ve been eagerly waiting for the Xperia Z2 to be made available in the US, you might be pleased to learn that the Xperia Z2 has finally gone on sale in the US. Unfortunately it seems that for now, the Xperia Z2 will not be sold by any carrier. Instead if you wanted to get your hands on it, you will have to pay its full price.

Interested customers will be able to pick up the Xperia Z2 themselves via Sony’s US website. The handset is priced at $699.99, which is actually slightly discounted from its original price of $750, so we guess the delay did result in a discount which could be a good thing for some customers.

The Xperia Z2 model that came to the US is the D6503 variant. This means is that if you’re planning on using it with AT&T or T-Mobile, it should work just fine, although those on Verizon and Sprint will be out of luck as this particular variant does not support your carrier’s CDMA bands. Perhaps Sony will release a CDMA version, or perhaps Verizon/Sprint will announce their own models later, but for now you’d be out of luck.
