AT&T Galaxy S4 Mini Android 4.4.2 Update Released

Last year Samsung followed up the release of the Galaxy S4 with a watered down version of its flagship aptly called the Galaxy S4 mini. It offers mid-range specifications with the looks that people have come to expect from Samsung’s flagships at a relatively lower price. AT&T is one of the carriers that offers the device in the U.S. and today the carrier has released Android 4.4.2 update for the Galaxy S4 mini.

AT&T has taken considerable time in pushing out this update for the smartphone given the fact that this particular Android 4.4.2 update has already been released for Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular variants of the Galaxy S4 mini.

Samsung has been doing a good job recently of updating all supported models to the latest version of Android OS. Its official support page mentions that this update was sent out for AT&T Galaxy S4 mini sometime last week but it appears that the over-air-update hasn’t rolled out for majority of the users as yet.

Android 4.4.2 is primarily an incremental update. Expect bug fixes as well as performance and stability improvements. It shouldn’t take AT&T more than a couple of weeks now to get this update out to all Galaxy S4 mini owners. When the update goes live in a particular region it will automatically pop up on the device.
