Driveclub, which was meant to be a launch title for the PlayStation 4, will finally be released later this year. The team behind this title said they needed the extra time to ensure that players got the best possible gameplay experience. Recently several details about Driveclub and its environment were shared as well. Those who are waiting for this title to drop would want to know what cars they will be able to take for a spin. It has been confirmed that Driveclub cars don’t feature any Japanese makes at launch.

Paul Rustchynsky, Driveclub’s game director, told media behind a closed-doors presentation that the title does not have cars from Japanese manufacturers at launch. For now the lineup appears to be made up of mainly European manufacturers.

All hope is not lost though. Rustchynsky confirmed that Evolution Studios is engaged in active discussions with several Japanese manufacturers to get licenses so that their cars can be added to Driveclub.

Since this is likely going to happen after launch, these cars will have to be rolled through through DLCs, some of them will be available for free and others will cost players some money.

Sony has already confirmed that Driveclub will be released for PlayStation 4 in North America on October 7th, in Europe on October 8th and in the UK on October 10th.
