Samsung Galaxy Alpha LTE-Advanced Variant Rumored

If you follow technology news regularly then by now you must have heard about the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Its a completely new device that the company is expected to launch in the very near future, possibly even tomorrow. One of its biggest features is that it has a metal frame instead of plastic. A report published today claims that there will be a LTE-Advanced variant of the Galaxy Alpha and its possible that this variant will be released in a select few markets.

Galaxy Alpha model SM-G850F is said to tout LTE-Advanced capabilities. For this to work the device would require a Qualcomm chip and rumor has it that this variant might be powered by the Snapdragon 805.

On the other hand the variants that Samsung is expected to widely distribute are said to be powered by the company’s own Exynos processor. Its also expected to have 2GB RAM, 32GB and 64GB models, 12 megapixel rear camera and a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display.

The reason why the Galaxy Alpha LTE-Advanced variant will be available in limited markets is because there are only a handful of carriers out there that have working LTE-A networks. What use would a LTE-A variant have if its in a market where there’s no compatible network. Most likely South Korea will be the first market to receive the SM-G850F, provided that this report turns out to be true.
