Amazon Fresh New York City Launch Expected Soon

Amazon is trying its hand with grocery delivery through a service called Amazon Fresh which is available in only a couple of locations right now. The aim appears to be to take this service national after first launching in Seattle and later expanding to Los Angeles and San Francisco. A new report suggests that the Amazon Fresh New York City launch might not be far off, it may even hit the Big Apple by next month.

Citing two people who have been briefed on the plans Re/code reports that Amazon Fresh might go live in New York City by October. Apparently Amazon has been collecting food inventory in a warehouse in Avenel, N.J. with the goal being to launch this service by next month. This warehouse is located around 25 miles from Manhattan.

One source has also claimed Amazon Fresh may even be expanded to Philadelphia because the company would simply use its Avenel facility to supply customers who can order fresh and frozen foods. Same day delivery is possible provided that the orders are placed before a cut-off time in the morning, those who place their orders after that will receive them the next morning.

In order to use Amazon Fresh customers have pay $299 per annum for a Prime Fresh account and this includes same day or next day grocery delivery as well as a vast collection of other products like books and gadgets.
