Android L Tested On Nexus 5 (Rumor)

google-nexus-5-red-011Is it true, that the yet unreleased Android L mobile operating system is currently undergoing testing over on the Nexus 5? That seems to be the case, as the Chromium issued tracker on the Chromium web site does point to Lemon Meringue Pie build LRW87D that happened to be running on the Hammerhead. Just a little bit of revision, Hammerhead proved to be Google’s code when it came to describing the Nexus 5.

Apparently, this particular version of Lemon Meringue Pie that ran happened to be rather recent. If one were to break down the LRW87D build number, where “L” is more or less a given that it stands for Lemon Meringue Pie. As for the second letter, “R”, it happens to be a code which Google uses to point to the code branch which the build hailed from. As for the “W87” bit, it mentions that the build was made on the 87th day of the third quarter of this year, since A stands for the first quarter of 2009, which means that W ought to be the third quarter for this year. Last but not least, “D” possibly points to the fourth and final version of the operating system that was introduced on that day.
