Sony Xperia Z3 For Verizon Rumored

Xperia-Z3-Xperia Z3-Compac

Yesterday Sony unveiled a handful of new devices at its press event in Berlin. One of the products that it showed off was one that had already been rumored many times, the Xperia Z3. T-Mobile was quick to confirm that it would be carrying the Xperia Z3 and that the smartphone would be available for purchase through Magenta this fall. Sony didn’t say if any other carrier would get it as well but apparently there’s the possibility that it could make its way to Verizon under a new moniker.

According to PCMag, it has received “reliable documents” that show a Verizon Xperia Z3 model but apparently it will be called the Xperia Z3v. As per the scribe these documents show the Verizon model with the carrier’s logo on the back, they’re also said to include references to wireless charging and NFC.

Apparently a screenshot shows Amazon Music, Amazon Appstore and Kindle preloaded on the Xperia Z3v. Furthermore 32GB of onboard storage, microSD card slot and 3GB of RAM are also rumored for the Verizon iteration.

Verizon hasn’t officially commented on this as yet so it can’t be said for sure right now if the Xperia Z3v is really going to be available from Big Red. The documents do not reveal any pricing or availability information. Verizon was believed to be in the running for Xperia Z2 as well but it never came to this carrier, perhaps it would have better luck with the latest flagship from Sony.
