Steve Wozniak Thinks Apple Should Have Released Larger iPhones Years Ago

wozniak.020713While Steve Wozniak might have helped to found Apple, one of the largest tech companies in the world today, it seems that he also has no problems criticizing Apple and telling them where they might have gone wrong. Speaking to CNNMoney, Wozniak was quoted as saying that he believes that Apple should have made a larger iPhone much sooner.

Wozniak believes that had Apple created a giant iPhone earlier, as opposed to this year with the iPhone 6 Plus, they could have competed in the market a lot better. “Apple could have had a much bigger share of the smartphone market if it had a larger-screen iPhone for the past three years. It could have competed better with Samsung.”

As it stands it isn’t as if Apple is losing ground to Samsung, but it is safe to say that Samsung really helped to kick off the trend and demand for phones with large displays. When the company first announced their Galaxy Note handset, many were skeptical as they thought that no one would want such a huge device.

Fast forward to today, not only did Samsung help lead the charge in the phablet market, but they have also inspired other OEMs to release similarly large phones as well. Now it seems that phones with 5-inch displays is the norm, and anything smaller might not even be considered. That being said, we have to wonder how different the market would be today had Apple led the charge instead?
