Casio Unveils Exilim MR1 “Kawaii Selfie” Camera

casio-exilim-ex-mr1-selfie-mirror-cam-groupAny camera is capable of taking a selfie, although for some reason Casio has decided that we actually need dedicated cameras to help us do that. Not too long ago the company announced the oddly expensive EX-TR50 and if you thought that was a bit ridiculously priced for a selfie camera, Casio has recently announced the “Kawaii Selfie by Mirror Camera” which is also known as the Exilim MR1.

Priced at $330, we have to say that it is still a tad expensive for a limited use camera, but at the same time cheaper than its big brother the EX-TR50. It will feature a 14MP sensor and a huge mirror in the middle of the camera that will help you adjust your hair and strike up a pose before snapping that selfie.

If you were hoping to use the camera for anything else, it might be hard as the default aperture is set at f/5.0 which is admittedly a bit slow for action shots or anything involving low-light. The camera will also come bundled with software that allows the photographer to enhance their selfies like smoothening out their skin tone.

The camera will also come with built-in WiFi, video recording and playback, and will support microSDXC cards. It also comes with a small-ish 700mAh battery which should allow about 230 still images or about 35 minutes worth of Full HD video. So, any takers?
