Samsung Seemingly Confirms Galaxy Note 2 Lollipop Update

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Review

It may have been over a month since Google released Android 5.0 Lollipop but the update is yet to land on majority of the supported devices. Popular flagships like the Galaxy S5 and LG G3 have only received it in a handful of markets. Apart from Nexus and Google Play Edition units, the Lollipop rollout has been progressing at a very slow pace. Samsung’s roadmap is one that many people are interested in, and it looks like Lollipop for Galaxy Note 2 might also be on the cards.

The page from which this information has been obtained belongs to the Finnish section of Samsung’s official website, so at least one can’t quite doubt the credibility of this information, other than the possibility that someone made a mistake.

According to the list on this page Samsung is going to release Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy Note 2 as well, apart from recent devices like the Note 3 and Note 4. Some might remember that the Note 2 was released back in September 2012, and Samsung usually doesn’t support devices beyond two major updates or two years, so it would take some by surprise if Lollipop was to land on the Note 2.

Obviously many questions can be raised about the information that comes through the page on Samsung’s own website, but up till now Samsung hasn’t commented on the reports, and hasn’t outright declined that Note 2 won’t receive Lollipop. If you happen to own this phablet keep your fingers crossed.
